Michael von Hausen of MVH was the principal urban designer and engagement lead on this project, partnering with Urban Systems and Calum Srigley Design Consultant. A brief 3-day intensive “Design Charrette” was quickly followed by a unanimous endorsement by the Prince Rupert City Council. The City not only endorsed the Master Plan but quickly approved the $9 million Phase 1 Design and Construction budget which is now underway. In fact, the word of the Master Plan process success quickly spread, and the same team was retained to carry out a similar initiative for the adjoining District of Port Edward.
