Its purpose is to inspire further exploration as to what makes a complete community. Refer to it as a workbook or collection of ideas that inspire designing urban, suburban, and rural communities. This handbook may only represent an ideal or concept on our path to a utopian living environment.

This handbook starts with an approach and methodology and then works through a series of “tool kit” analysis components and checklists. A series of award-winning case studies throughout the text applies the method to specific recent projects. I want to share my experience so that it can enrich your exploration and practice in complete community planning and design. It is not an easy process but the rewards of place-making are endless.
