Meet your lead instructor
Michael von Hausen has extensive training experience spanning 40+ years, serving as an instructor, adjunct professor, and curriculum coordinator. He has taught at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver Island University, Queen’s University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Colorado, and the Urban Development Institute, with guest lectures at other institutions. His teaching repertoire includes urban design, sustainable development, site planning, land policy, and urban economics. He serves as the curriculum coordinator and chief instructor for Simon Fraser University's award-winning Urban Design Certificate Program and is the principal facilitator for the Urban Development Institute’s School of Development. Michael's expertise in developing innovative and practical curriculum highlights his dedication to equipping future professionals with cutting-edge skills in urban planning and design.
